People are gregarious and whether we are feverishly celebrating our sports teams during playoff season, or being in quiet requiem for a lost beloved member of the community or even surviving the chaos of a terrorist attack, we tend to form bonds with those who are sharing the experience or those who have a similar story.

When we go through a traumatic event each person has a unique perspective how they witnessed it. One thing is for sure, we are never the same. Some of us will use the term broken; broken physically, broken in spirit, broken mind, broken heart. The Japanese have a philosophical art called kintsugi. Kintsugi is taking something broken and repairing it using gold, silver or platinum, to fuse the pieces back together making it more beautiful, thus respecting its life and its story.

We all came into this world as a creation and some of us become broken along life’s road but rather than embark on a highway to hell wouldn’t you prefer a peaceful path to something better?

Henry Ford had once said, ““Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t—either way, you’re right.”
